Reciprocation, not censorship

“In gaining an entrance into the kingdom of heaven, it is the motive that counts. My Father looks into the hearts of men and judges by their inner longings and their sincere intentions.” [The Urantia Book, 140:3:19]

Thought Adjuster ― The Reciprocation, not censorshipTeacher: Thought Adjuster ―
You heard of a little girl who, intent at pleasing her mother, doodled with a sharp stone on the body of her car. How does the parent respond to the startling consequences of such a pure intention? Will it backfire on the well-intended wannabee artist with the unforeseen boomerang effect of a puzzling harsh punishment? Will mom angrily acknowledge the scribbly token of her child’s affection, or will she be moved to her very core by such an innocent gesture?

Immature or ignorant souls prompted by pure intentions make frequent miscalculations. Yet such regrettable and costly errors in judgment do not jeopardize their bright eternal future, as love-in-action is the playdough out of which a better world will emerge.

Parental hearts dealing with the collateral damage of good deeds gone awry are nevertheless mightily moved. The comic of the situation may prompt bursts of laughter or bear hugs on their part while presenting their children with more sustainable options. They wisely understand that to penalize their offspring would generate much confusion in a young mind, whose motivations were pure.

Look at your earthly siblings with a parental heart—not a judgmental mind. How else could you encourage them to keep trying? The Father wishes for you to come home, doesn’t He?

Love needs reciprocation—not censorship to spread like wildfire. Dig within your heart to find its wellspring. It may be trickle inconspicuously at first, but its initial flow will gain momentum and transform you and those on its path if unhindered. Such was the always encouraging attribute of Jesus’ steadfast love.
