Today we would like to continue with our theme of getting back to the basics of connection and meditation. We spoke to you students on the path about beginning again and how it is never too late to begin or rebuild your conscious relationship with Spirit. The Indwelling Spirit of the Creator is infinitely patient and desires for you to explore this sacred connection. The Spirit knows how difficult it is to live on your world and how history, social conditioning, and science have led you away from the “real” connection you have within you and to your spirit family—those who are similar in propensity and capacity who are making ready to receive you into their care when you arrive on the mansion worlds.

Today, dear students, in continuation of our study of the Elements of Development, I would like for you to participate in an exercise of the mind. I would like for you to slow down; forget about the world around you for a moment; forget about your worries for the future; forget about your regrets of the past, and take a look deep inside yourself in this moment. Bring yourself onto the hallowed grounds of the true essence of your being. Explore the living, conscious awareness of the self and think deeply about what life actually is—that you are a living, breathing, thinking, self-aware entity—a beautiful and marvelous being of complexity and sovereignty—with volition and power to think and choose as you will. See your life as if looking at a movie in rapid forward motion from your birth into this world until the present. Think about all the thoughts you have ever had up until this moment and think about the thoughts and questions you have asked as you have had each new experience in this life—as a child, as adolescence, and as an adult. Ask the question: “Why am I here?”

The discernment process is one that is continually changing and evolving as you mature spiritually. The Indwelling Spirit continually speaks to us and points the way, yet because of our immature spiritual and intellectual limitations, we mostly misinterpret the meaning and often create and attach our own story about what is truth and what is error based on our conditioning, past experience, and personal desires. The maturing of the discernment process comes when we learn to slow down, quiet the mind, and sincerely ask questions about the matter at hand without any preconceived answer—even an answer that may not fit in with our current belief system. Being open and with the desire to be led to the answer, no matter where it may lead or how it may tread on your current beliefs and assumption, is the way to quicken the process.

The message for today is the beginning of a series of lessons about laying a new foundation and establishing new ways and routines for developing your spiritual life. There are many reading these messages who feel frustrated and defeated in their attempts to sit in silence and tap into the wealth of spiritual blessings that are available. Each one of you students is created uniquely and is conditioned differently in your environment, so there are some techniques that may work better than others, but in any method, there are some common elements that are universal. We will examine these elements so that you can understand and learn to use them in your own creative way and build a personal foundation that is best for you.

The Fifth Epochal Revelation to our World

When an evolutionary inhabited world ceases to make forward progress, or gets ‘stuck’ going in the wrong direction, the Creator Son of that world has the option of sending celestial help. The first four epochal revelations to our planet, known as “Urantia” throughout the universe, can be explored in detail in The Urantia Book; this brief missive explores just the current Fifth Epochal Revelation now happening to lift our world up socially, to where it should rightly have been by this time in our history.
What concerns our celestial overseers is that our social, political, and economic maturity is still very primitive. War, poverty, wasted lives and increasingly dysfunctional family dynamics are not preparing people to live in peace and to grow into their full potential. That potential includes the soul growth of individuals that contributes to their spiritual growth and ascendant career.

Let us, again, speak about the topic of meditation and its vital role in continued spiritual growth and healthy mind balance. On this world, especially, where there are so many distractions and others competing for your attention, you can easily find yourself living in a continuous state of doing rather than being. It is important that you honor and nurture your “beingness” by setting aside time to connect to your Higher Self and suspend the busy world around you. You students on the path that have at one time or another made a practice of meditation know how important this is to your whole mental, physical, and spiritual natures. For it is the peace that surpasses all understanding. If you have “fallen off the wagon,” so to speak, it is time to, once again, climb aboard the peace train and get back in “atonement” with the Spirit of Peace and Understanding—the Inner Pilot.

Guidelines and Protocols for Discerning Messages of Light

Each one of you, as Agondonters, plays an important role in this effort, no matter how great or how small you think that effort is—all, as a combined chorus in the grand opus of cosmic progress, adds his or her voice to the cacophony of faithful voices who knowingly holds the values of Truth, Beauty, Goodness, Compassion, Mercy, Forgiveness, and Love above the many discordant and confused voices of a world in contrast to these fruit bearing values of Light. We thank you and hope that you will continue to grow with us and shine your light with even greater brilliance into the coming year.

Dear Child, there are many things under heaven and earth that you do not understand and that you are not expected to understand in your current life in the flesh, yet you and others are sometimes affected by the inner workings of universe mechanics and realities unseen by you. Because you are sensitive to these veiled realities, your human experiences would seem strange and fantastic to most that walk through life unaware. Even those who know you and have supported you and your spiritual journey cannot truly understand the wholly personal path you walk with Me. You are trying to attach human meanings and connect historical references to morontial realities, which most on your world have no capacity to understand, nor is there any equitable human reference to such things. It may be your own “misunderstanding” of these things that keeps you from seeing the larger picture because you may not move beyond what you cannot now understand. Let go of all your preconceptions and keep your focus on Me. I will lead you to a more suitable understanding of these new realities which I have allowed for your growth.
