Religion, defined in terms of evolution, came into existence together with the primates’ attainment of personality will. Will came to human beings concomitantly with the function of the last two Adjutant Mind Spirits, wisdom and worship. And being the last, they opened way for the appearance of religion in human life. Religion is the capacity to believe in the transcendental, even if the object of this belief is not accurate. Exercising this new faculty, which may be called faith, makes man a religious being. Today we are going to study the manifestation of religion in human life. Here are its major aspects:

Teacher: Prolotheos —
Perfection is a divine value meant by the Gods to be shared with their creatures, even with those of the lowest evolutionary origin, like you on Urantia. The ascension scheme spread throughout the seven super-universes is the means by which you can become a perfected being and finally reach Paradise. However, while on the ascension path — which you have only started on Urantia — perfection is a goal and living is the technique by which to process it, step by step — if you have indeed chosen to live by the will of God. This process includes the desire of a pure life — to be like God — by the practice of certain purging attitudes in life.

Teacher: Thought Adjuster —
Mortal life always involves difficulties because of the conditions of relative imperfection in which mortal reality must necessarily develop. This is even more true on a world like Urantia, which has been the victim of errors in supermaterial administration due to the planetary rebellion. However, many of the difficulties you experience during your mortal life are preventable and, to some extent, avoidable, because in reality most of the problems in this world have been and still are caused by yourselves.

Teacher: Thought Adjuster —
Spiritual insight is often a precursor to material wisdom. When a human being has achieved a connection with their inner Spark of God, they are more likely to begin to display an ability to choose the best path—one that cannot be explained by the simple sum of material knowledge and experiences. Human beings are creatures meant to learn from their experiences, but in some cases, suffering and trial-and-error are not necessary in order to understand what the best course of action is, just as it is not necessary to jump from the top floor of a building to know that doing so could be harmful to your health.

Teacher: The Spirit Within —
Desire is that function of the will responsible for the impulse that makes all will creatures take the initiatives to accomplish what they want. However, many times human desires are so much fixated that they lose sight of their dimensions and context, becoming plain obsessions of the ego. Obsessions often dominate the mind, becoming a misguided drive for mistaken actions, rushing things to achieve what you desperately but unwisely want. Rushing is sometimes necessary to not lose opportunities. But, all too often, rushing is indeed a foolish thing. I do have a lesson for you today. It is: ‘Rush not, my child!’

Teacher: Thought Adjuster —
Is it possible that, without realizing it, you’ve been living your life the wrong way? Is it possible that the Father created you to carry out a particular task that you have not yet discovered? Do you imagine that the Father would make your life into a riddle you must solve — or else be punished in some way? You know that this isn’t true. Your life has been a gift, one that comes with no conditions or terms of use. The Father demands nothing of you, but He wholeheartedly wishes for you to live in such a way that you experience true fulfillment and receive the inheritance that belongs to you as a child of God.

Teacher: Magisterial Son, Monjoronson —
To those who are lonely, to those who are confused, to those who feel loss and find it difficult feel hope for the future, to those who cannot see their way out of the chaos of these times, I come to you with assurance from the Father that you are loved, that you are cherished, that there is a plan and you are part of it and that there will come a day when you will understand.

It is a matter of time until it is no more. What do I mean by that? Spiritual growth occurs over time and this is the reason why the first leg of your eternal career takes place in a world of time and space—starting with nine gestational months.
