Stagnant Faith and Living Faith

Stagnant Faith and Living Faith

Teacher Prolotheos:
Let us take this opportunity to turn our attention to the desirability of a dynamic faith, and the emptiness of a stagnant faith. Unfortunately, most evolutionary religious systems produce only stagnant faith; and so, their adepts are far away from living a satisfying spiritual life.

A stagnant faith is characterized by its immobility – it does not progress. The beliefs held by the religionist are rather crystallized in time. When faith crystallizes, it becomes dogmatic, a belief ultimately locked in with suspension or suppression of reasoning, for a dogma does not allow questioning. All forms of religious systems are prone to this stagnation of faith for it reflects a need for security (no change) by the believer.

Sources of Human Joy

Prolotheos ― Sources of Human Joy

Teacher: Prolotheos ―
Primitive man, evolved from the lower primates, was rarely capable of expressing real joy. Nonetheless, the capacity of manifesting joyous feelings has always been a feature of the human personality. In fact, only after the genetic upstepping by the Adamites did humans become more joyful creatures. The sense of the ludicrous is an important dimension of human life and its regular enjoyment provides the necessary equilibrium with the more serious and strenuous activities of daily living. The importance of entertainment activities is well acknowledged in the Morontia Worlds by the existence of a special recreation corps called the Reversion Directors, whose ministry of diversion is most appreciated by all classes of beings. We may distinguish three primary sources for human joy.

Commonalities among Religions

Teacher: Prolotheos ―
What divides human beings are their differences. What unites them are their commonalities. The different religions on Urantia will remain in conflict with each other while you focus on their differences, rather than on their commonalities. What you have in common with others will make you focus on what is basic, essential or primordial. The differences are construed upon what is secondary, derivative and superfluous. The interchange of knowledge and spiritual aspects from the different religions should bring mutual improvement to every religion, acknowledging and incorporating the advanced features of each.

The Importance of Change

Prolotheos ― The Importance of Change

Teacher: Prolotheos ―
Change is the soul of experience. Change is not only an activity; rather, change is an alteration to the current status. God is active, but He doesn’t change. Finite beings are characterized by their regular changes. Human beings need change to experience growth, but change may also bring retrogression. As well, change can bring disorder, chaos and various unwanted situations, when change is motivated by evil intent. God can make changes, bringing into existence something totally new, just by His Will — creation. Human beings can only make changes by altering something already in existence — Co-creation. Let us take this opportunity to think about the Importance of Changes in human lives.

Is Urantia In for a New Great War?

Is Urantia In for a New Great War?

Teacher: Prolotheos ―
You have not been available to me or to other Teachers for a long time. Your question also originated in other minds — many minds, in truth — it is most relevant any time, but particularly now: “Is Urantia in for a new Great World War?” While there is no more definite answer than the one given to your Progress Group Leader by Samuel of Panoptia (“Only the Father knows”), there is some evidence (signals) that allow us to conjecture with a reasonable margin of certainty, only by remembering what you already know about wars and applying it to the present day.

Questioning About God

Teacher Prolotheos:
I see that you have paid much attention to certain ancient existential questions about God and His relationship with human beings, especially the ones that really know Him and call themselves children, friends and even servants of God. I do encourage you to enlist these questions in our conversation, no matter how startling they may appear at first sight. So begin. Question away!

Why Revenge is Wrong

Friday, 30 November, 2018
revenge

Teacher Prolotheos:
Some things are easy to classify as either right or wrong and others are not. When a recognized good, generous public figure, is accused, condemned and sentenced to death for a fictitious crime like sedition, as the Judaic authorities did to Jesus of Nazareth, it is not difficult to see the injustice of such a judgment. When, the case for example is to classify as wrong an act of revenge which even agrees with the old commandment — ‘an eye for an eye’ — it is not so easy. However, Jesus, left no doubt that, revenge, although acceptable in the olden days, is unacceptable in the Kingdom of God. He taught: ‘do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.’ Therefore, revenge is wrong; but why is it?

Most Highs Rule

Teacher Prolotheos:
Urantia and all the other inhabited spheres in the Super Universe of Orvonton receive three levels of government, care, and supervision. From Uversa, our super-universe capital comes the general supervision for all local universes by the agencies of the Ancient of Days. From the local universes comes the government of the Creator Sons, like our Christ Michael (Jesus) who most capably governs His Nebadon Universe. And finally, from the Systems is dispatched, for the inhabited worlds, a Planetary Prince, for the local government.

How Does Faith Progress?

How Does Faith Progress

Teacher Prolotheos:
Evolutionary religions are prone to create superstitions, myths, legends and fables. Although they are evolutionary creations, they are capable of expressing an ill-informed, but authentic spiritual faith. The facts may be wrong and useless, but the spiritual experiences they convey are of universal value because by faith, they make the transcendental leap from the circumscribed material sense to the spiritual dimension. True, this embryonic faith springs from evolution, however, because it is also transcendental, this evolution becomes a spiritual evolution, that starts in the beings’ native world and continues progressing to and through the morontia worlds on High. How does this faith progress from myths, legends, and fables to the robust faith of those who acknowledge themselves as children of the Universal Father and members of the human brotherhood?

Basic human flaws

Saturday, 20 October, 2018
spiritual growth

Teacher Prolotheos:
Human beings are not — as some religionists proclaim — born in sin and therefore inherently sinners. On the other hand, human beings are not perfect — you are imperfect — therefore, you are susceptible to project evil and commit sin but, exclusively by choice, not by inheritance. There is no original sin. Since human beings are indeed imperfect, they live lives that are also imperfect which show flaws in variable degrees according to specific choices and unique experiences of each individual. Those flaws may constitute weakness, sin, wickedness and evil. They are, in fact, very common in lives that are not yet under the control of the Spirit Within, and fail to show the fruits of the spirit. Let’s today examine these basic flaws and how to overcome them in life’s experiences.

On Physical Death

Teacher Prolotheos:
Death is an important and crucial moment in all human existence. Death may be an interruption in a life’s career or — for comparably few — an irrevocable ending to their existence — depending on whether during life a faith decision was made in respect to doing the will of the Father. Death is an important event because it is the moment of harvest — timely or untimely — of a life’s career. Death is exiting life by way of interruption of vital functions and is of consequence for human beings that did not reach the status of spiritual identification with their personal Thought Adjuster.

Death and Resurrection

Thursday, 21 March, 2013
Teacher Prolotheos:
Today we cover the subject of dying, and I want to talk about aspects of the process all of you have to one day face. Mortal death is not the end as you all know, but under certain circumstances it can be. Death, simply explained, is the passage of those physical and intellectual energies in you, presently in a kinetic state, to a static state because of dissolution. However, death can be either a remarkable event to you, which advances you to your next life, and to your next universe station, the Mansion Worlds, or in extremely rare circumstances a tragic episode which eventually and forever ends your existence as recognizable universe personality. Ponder the concept of permanent death.

Being Available

Tuesday, 25 January, 2011
Prolotheos: Being available for service is one of the most precious secrets of ministry. You cannot be of service to anybody, if you are not available. What I mean by ‘being available?’ Being available, from a spiritual viewpoint is to be willing to engage or be engaged in an activity that is not primarily for your personal gain. It is the disposition for being a channel to minister to others -- to bestow goodness upon others. Your benefit from being available will be a consequence of the fact you made yourself available, that is, the spiritual satisfaction that it grants.
